Remember R&D costs are a thing, as are developers' salaries. I’m sure if UAD sold all their plugins for $50 each they’d still profit because developing a plugin only takes a team of like 4 guys to get the gear and model itĮh, not really. Something like 8-10 bands and you can push/pull it like Pultec style EQ. Like some people have said online it’s something I’d pay $100+ for a still would be happy with its performance.Īlso check out GodMode by Denise (something I just bought recently from PluginBoutique) it comes with a free “Slappy” Delay plugin and you can saturate sources using a graphic EQ to determine where you want the saturation. I’m sure if UAD sold all their plugins for $50 each they’d still profit because developing a plugin only takes a team of like 4 guys to get the gear and model it, but that’s just not the type of brand they are and they’re also paying licensing fees to the brands that they model to put the actual name on the plugin.īut with that being said, more often than not a higher priced plugin isn’t going to be a complete dud but a lot of times a $20-30 plugin isn’t “amazing”, so this MJUC blows my mind. Very true, price tag isn’t an indication of quality.
